I read this article on OS X Daily:
http://osxdaily.com/2014/11/24/instant-hotspot-wifi-mac-os-x-iphone/
And it says that all you need is a Mac using Yosemite and a compatible iPhone with the "Personal Hotspot" feature enabled.
I have both: iPhone 6, and a Late 2010 MacBook Air obviously using Yosemite. Also, both devices are using the same iCloud ID as the article points out.
Now, I know that my MBA does not support continuity but they make it seem like personal hotspot does not need to support continuity (but I thought it did?) I can make and receive calls on my Mac, however, the only thing I cannot do is Handoff, so maybe that is it?
Am I right or I am doing something wrong?
I mean I can connect my MBA to my iPhone just fine, but when I look at the connection under the wifi bar, I do not see the battery life or cellular connection strength as they show.
Just wondering what the deal is? Thanks for your input/help in advance.
