What would be the best instant messaging program for Mac. I just switched (got my iBook today!!!), and need a good instant messenger program. Thanks!

What IM service do you use? I use MSN, and I find that Microsoft's official client is still the most stable and most compatible.

i would be one of those folk who would say that exact thing. adium is amazing.

I love Proteus. It's shareware, so it costs $15, but is fully functional if you don't pay for it, it'll just pop up a box asking you to pay for it every time it starts up. Anyway, having tried Adium, Fire, AIM, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo Messenger on the Mac, I must say that in my opinion, Proteus beats them all. Like Fire and Adium, it's a multi-protocol client. I use it for AIM, MSN and Yahoo, and = it supports ICQ, Jabber and Rendevous (along with some I've never heard of) as well. Anyway, check it out.

Use iChat for AIM.
