Got my Mac Book Pro last Christmas (sweet gift). All was fine at first, but after a few months use, instead of going to sleep when it times out, it lapses into a coma. Touching the start key or tickling the trackpad do not wake it up. I have to hold down the start key to reboot.

When this happens I typically have Entourage up, sometimes Safari, TweetDeck and a couple of MS Word docs. So now, if I have to answer a phone, or am called away from my computer I have to remember to manually sleep it or I will have to boot it out of a coma when I return. HELP!!!

Odd - did this start happening after something specific, like installing a particular bit of software or an OS upgrade?

If you let it lapse into the "coma" it is possible that the System logs will have some useful information. You can browse them in the Console utility application after you've got the machine going again.
