I need to make a video showing my mouse clicks, navigating, etc. What app would I use for this? I only need to do one so an open source app or free would be best suited.

I think you're talking about screencasting...
I don't know much about it, but found one open source app that might work: http://www.jingproject.com/ - you may need to use a combination of apps to do various parts of the work for you (audio, video etc), or else pay for a more professional package.
But, like I say, take this as advice from one who is pretty clueless
