My iPhone has IOS 4.1 and baseband 05.14.02.
I want to unlock it for t-Mobile and (if possible) upgrade to IOS 5 so I can have iCloud but the only instructions I could find were to put iPad firmware on it.

If it's an AT&T iPhone then you may not be stuck flashing the iPad baseband. Your profile says your from New Orleans so I'm assuming you're in the US which means you likely have an AT&T iPhone 3GS. If the phones original contract has expired and you OR someone you know is an AT&T customer in good standing then you can have the phone factory unlocked for free. No iPad baseband issues!

Can anyone else confirm this?
