Integrating Gmail between Apple Mail and iPhone.

Does anybody here have Gmail, Apple Mail, and their iPhone integrated perfectly? I can't seem to make it work.

When I send a message on my iPhone, it shows up in "All Mail" in Gmail. But it does not show up in the "Sent" folder on my desktop.

HOWEVER, when I send a message with my Apple Mail, it shows up in my "Sent" folder on my iPhone.

Any advice in setting this up the proper way would be appreciated. I've set it up using the instructions on the Google site. I've set it up as IMAP, rather than Gmail, I've seemingly tried it all.

Please help, everyone who is wiser than me.

Can't comment on the iPhone, as my first one will be the 4S.

I do use Gmail on Mac Mail and had to do a few changes to get it to work.

Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Make sure sent is unchecked.

Go to your "Sent" mailbox under the Gmail tab in Mac Mail.. then in Mac Mail go Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For > Sent

Seems to all work on my end, but as I said, I do not have an iPhone.
