I have a new 15" 3.06ghz MacBook Pro with the EFI 1.7

I've been really cautious to buy an Intel G2 because I've been reading ppl have had problems initializing them, loading the OS, etc

I bought one anways
I hope theres no issue with the EFI

so, fine tuning the drive...
some people are turning off Sudden Motion Sensor and etc using Terminal

does that make sense and the drive becomes more reliable?
Anything else to know before installing this guy

I installed mine without doing any fine tuning and all is well.

I installed this into my 13 mbp and it flies

No beachballing. It runs great.

I am on the 1.7 firmware.

It was pretty straight forward.. open up the macbook pro

Unscrew the old HD.. drop in the SSD.. but old one in an enclosure

Restart holding down.. Option

Laptop boots up using the external drive (original) == disk utility to initiliaze the internal SSD..

and then.. Carbon Copy Cloner everything over from external/original to internal/SSD-new

My question is :

AJA Kona test is reporting 80mb write/260 read for the intel.
The read is phenomenal... but the write is pretty low

Im doing ony photo editing processing from RAWs and video editing... For what Im doing is this Intel still the best? Or is there anything faster... for what im doing, photo/Raw processing and video editing

i just got an xbench of 200 on my 15" laptop, which is great for me.
