Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone knew the benchmarks of the discrete intel 3000 vs. 9400M and more importantly 9600M GT processor.

If the jump aint to great it will be time for a new computer :D

HD3000 will beat the 9400m easily, but lose out to the 9600m GT. I do t have benchmarks obviously, but I'd count on that. I hardly use my 9600m GT, hence why I'm upgrading and passing my Pro to my wife.

yeah i hardly use the 9600M GT now. But I do have a few games, nothing great, Portal, Team Fortress 2, I wonder if they will run just as fine.

Thanks for the input though :D

I, too, use my Pro for Portal (and 2), as well as TF2; the 9400m's performance is generally fine for me so the new Airs will be great for me.

why did they have to cut out the CPU + GPU combo, an i5 or i7 with some new GPU would have smoked, I mean I wouldn't expect anything as crazy as the macbook pro, maybe something around the mac mini and the new macbook air would be god like.

The old macbook air seems like a better value when it was released.
