im planning on building my own PC for gaming soon and im interested to know if Intel has released or when they will be releasing the Core 2 Quad 45nm processors (dont know the codename). will these be a lot more expensive than the current 65nm Yorkfields and will they deliver much more faster speeds for gaming?

also i may as well ask as this is a Mac forum, when do you guys think Apple will release Core 2 Qoard mobile processors in the MacBooks and iMacs?

The 45nm Quad Cores are Yorkfield, 65nm are Kentsfield.

Prices are dropping on the Kentsfield quad cores on April the 20th, so they will be priced lower. The rest of the Yorkfield line (QX9650 is already out) will probably come around March/April.

Apple probably won't have quad core in iMacs/MBPs until they can use Nehalem I would think. 2009 eitherway.
