Hey world,

Got someone with a MacBook Pro mid 2012 13 inch. What were trying to do is get windows 10 installed on here, the latest bootcamp drivers have been downloaded and installed but the drivers being used for the Intel HD 4000 card is causing the machine to be un suable or instant black screen rendering it useless.

Only way I can get this to a workable state for troubleshooting is in safe mode. If I remove the driver completely off the machine it will boot normally how ever it fails again after windows 10 installs the drivers again (despite selecting the options to delete them)

Any one had some success getting windows 10 installed? It is running Windows 10 Pro build 2004.

Seems that the latest driver from windows update is messing it up. Presumably the bootcamp supplied one is ok.

- Safe mode, go to device manager, select the driver that works (the older bootcamp one)
- Use group policy to block driver being updated for that hardware ID

See guide

Hope that works for you.

I had to do something like this for nvidia 320m driver in bootcamp.

Thanks for the reply I wil have to do this when I can get ahold of the machine. I didn't think to look at group policy

Will report back when I can

Any news on this? I’ve tried boot camp on an old Mac mini 2012 with intel HD 4000 and if I try to let it install all the provided drivers with the boot camp wizard I get BSOD 30 s after restart. I can install a few of them manually (Wi-Fi and audio I think) but video is screwed up. Picture is ugly although at native resolution (1080) and 32 bit. Sometimes colors are totally off after booting into windows. Restart fixes it, but not a good sign. Minecraft claims that I should upgrade video drivers but to what? BSOD?

Sorry for the late reply - I can get windows 10 installed no worries.Soon as the driver gets installed for the graphics driver then I get black screens, BSODS only way it is stable is in safe mode.

I have had to pospone this - > the Mac is in a remote location and I sadly don't have physical access to it
