im selling my mini to my mom, her compaq box is over 4 years old. And im going to upgrade to a intel 17in imac. Are there any disadvanteges about getting a refurb from teh apple store? i dont mind a few little scratches for the couple hundred off. I heard the aiports are a problem but does 10.4.6 fix it? but anyway will a refurb act just like a new imac?

if i got another 512 or ram would they install it or would i have too

If you bought it from apple, they should be able to install it but if you bought it from somewhere else, you will need to install it yourself.

i ordered my 17 inch intel imac with apple care. i also ordered 1 gig of ram off of data ram, where is a step by step on how to install my ram?

Congrats on a fine new machine t1rider321. :) Glad to hear that you got an extra 1GB of RAM to go with it- this should help out performance even more (especially with Rosetta).
