Hi guys
Bought an acer nitro 1080p monitor that was recommended.

How do I make the display better on the monitor? It’s blurry etc. either as extended or as the main display etc

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Who recommended a 1080p monitor for a Mac post “retina”? That’s part of the concern. (1080p is retina at around 12” and your MBPro 15” has a resolution of 2880x1800 or 1800p)

But there are solutions, as I understand, although I have no direct experience with them. Search for third party resolution software, or somebody with greater skills than mine may respond here as well. It’s absolutely come up before; solutions exist on these forums already. No promise that they’ll be good enough for what you seek, though.

How are you connecting that external monitor. To which port on the MacBook Pro?

There is no 15-inch MBPro sold as a 2020 model. Last 15-inch was a 2019
Check in "About This Mac" (Top left corner of the desktop) and update us with what you see there

For clarity it’s the 13” last Intel version with 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports. I’m using a star tech (I think) hub to connect the hdmi from the monitor.

How big is the monitor? 1080p is pretty low resolution. You can play with the ports all you want, but text is going to be fuzzy no matter what. Even your built-in display has a higher resolution than 1080p, and you see how small it is. For video or graphics, the monitor will be OK.
