If they delay the 6-series chipset by 4-6 weeks, it seems very unlikely apple will have their new mbp ready by the end of March, which is the deadline of the 'back to school' promotion here in Australia.

Well, there was no guarantee that MBPs would have been released before late March if there had been no delay from Intel

Speaking of which, when are the back to school specials usually in play in North America (specifically Canada)? I'm guessing in the summer until the end of September-ish?

Intel makes you lose YOUR iPod??? It's not your iPod until you buy it from Apple. And as far as I can see, IF and WHEN you buy it is totally up to you.

Sheesh!

Pretty much, always around the introduction of the New iPod Touch (but the new iPod touch WILL NOT be eligible for the program :) )

just buy the mbp and ipod (when the deal happens) [and if they dont update the line by that ipod promotion, just sell the mbp when they do release it and buy the sb version.

Same thing here.

Shakes fist at engineer who epic failed.

Oh well, will continue to hold out hope.

P.S. I'm not buying the present generation. Aside from the fact that the 330M is pathetic, and a new, equivalent TDP AMD GPU would destroy it, the possibility of a quad MBP is way too good to pass up.
