You would have thought that picking up a contract like apple with a not inconsiderable percentage of the home computer market would be good for them - plus there's all the buzz about their forthcoming chips that look to be quicker than anything that AMD are currently showing.

Still I doubt that they'll be going anywhere anytime soon.

These wall street guys never know anything... And the quarter they're looking it is Jan 1 to Mar 31 anyway. I wouldn't draw any long-term conclusions from the article, or even the earnings. You might get something interesting out of their conference call though.

No Intel-fanboy here, in fact I just built an AMD system... but Conroe seems like it is going to be a beast. And with AMD's AM2 being a little lackluster in terms of an upgrade over 939... Intel has a window to get back in the game, at least until AMD comes out with AM3 (rumored late-2007).
