Intel released Quad Core Xeon and Core 2 Extreme today. :)


I hope to see some variation in Macs.

Sounds cool, kinda obvious next step, progress is always good.
 
and so the "should i wait for 8 core Mac Pros" threads begin to emerge...

For the Mac Pros, dump the 2.0GHz option, and move everything down an option; 3GHz dual core becomes the standard, with 2.66GHz dual core and x.xxGHz quad core.

I hope they put a quad core option on at least the 24" iMac.

you could just do it yourself by ripping out the older processors and putting in the new ones
