Im looking to replace the 160 GB HDD in my macbook pro. I can purchase a 160 GB Intel SSD for $300. I've looked around and I see the price of it is a great deal, but I'm just curious how well the intel drives work with the Mac os? I've read a few places that some of the features are windows only, just wondering if it'll still be good for my Mac. Don't know too much about them so thanks for the help! :)

Ok thanks! I'm pretty sure I will, I work at a best buy and I'm constantly in awe at how fast the MBA runs just because of the flash storage. Would be nice to get that kinda speed from my old MacBook pro :D

Just curious what will make the new gen better than their current ones?

Cheaper, as it will use 24nm manufactering (I believe its 24, anyways).

But yeah, you'll be able to get more GB for your dollar. I'm waiting for this to happen as well.

So yeah, plus 1 for waiting a bit.

Get a OWC SSD and love yourself.

Anyways, 285 mb/s is about as fast as 3.0 sata gets. If you're computer is old enough you might not even have 3.0, might be 1.5 like my older MBP.

Anyways, if you need/want it, buy it now and be thrilled ;)

You'll live a SSD
