I've heard that the next gen Intel SSD's will come out Q4 2010, but does anyone know the capacities? Will they double? Also, would the $/GB go up or down? Im looking to get a fairly large SSD, but right now I think it's best to wait for Intel G3's.
There have been some rumors of 600GB model but at least 320GB. Prices are unknown as usual but I would expect 160GB to be around 300 bucks, maybe even 250 and 320GB to be around 600$, just guesses though, wait for official info
I read it in several articles that capacity would double for the same price. That's fine but I just cannot see that happening immediately. However, buying a large SSD now might not be a very good idea (was it ever?), preserve your cash for these 25nm ones. Intel will be one of the first companies to release their new range, so their drives might see the biggest drop in price later on, at the beginning of the new year.
