Here is a good review of the drive wherein the improvements from it's predecessor the X25-M are explained.

As Mobius mentioned, the X25-M has been very reliable also.

An upside to the Intel drives is they provide a boot CDRom ISO you can use to do firmware updates on a Mac. Something other vendors like OWC do not provide.
