So I just got a couple of processors to upgrade my Mac Pro 1,1, given I'm about to start a year long course in 3D, I want as much rendering power as I can get.

Now, they have different markings on them, one is SL9YM and the other is SLAC4. The rest is identical (2,66/8M/1333) As fas as I've read, there's no problem using them together, but because 1,1 Mac Pros seem to always be the exception, I want to be sure :D

For those interested, I paid about 300€ on eBay for them (150€ each), one on auction, one in BIN.

Both use B3 steppings so they should work just fine, can't see any difference. It would be different if another was SLAEG as that uses G0 stepping.

Thanks! That's what I thought! Now I'm just waiting for some Arctic Cooling MX-3 thermal paste to arrive!

Eight cores!!!
