I’ve got a weird one...

Two homepods, iPad and iPhone. All on 14.2.

The homepods will intercom just fine, but within 60 seconds of turning myself on in Home for intercom/amywhere, the intercom icon will disappear from the iPhone/iPad and ’hey siri intercom‘ fails stating “To do that, turn on Intercom in the Home settings of your Home app.”

Of course after I do, it turns off seconds later.

I‘m at a total loss and looking for any pointers.

I’ve been having this too. Anyone figure out a fix yet?

Same problem here. In my case intercom worked for several hours without problem on my iPhone. But as soon as I added my wife as a new user in the Home app, intercom immediately switched itself off. I can turn it on, but it turns itself off after a period of time ranging from a few seconds to a minute or so. This behavior is now the same regardless of whether I switch intercom on for both home users or just one.

Fixed with 14.2.1 update. TY Apple.

Spoke too soon. Still craps out.

My intercom fixed itself last weekend - before the update to 14.2.1. I bought a new iPad Air last weekend and after setting it up, the Home app complained that intercom was not configured for users. I turned the two home users intercom settings on and the feature has remained working on all iOS devices ever since. Interestingly I had also been having problems getting homepods to recognise my wife‘s voice and after setting up the new iPad Air this was also fixed. No idea what changed when the new iPad was set up.
