If you put your calendar icon/app in a folder, let's say you do this on the 8th, go look at the miniature icon of it inside it's folder maybe 3 days later, it'll still say the 8th, only when you open its folder will it show the updated, current date. Seems like an easy enough fix to have the icon's date stay current, even when viewed in its mini folder version.
