If you skip to :20 in the video you can see that instead of locking the phone via a 4 set number combination, you can create a shape. In this case it was a G.

Do you think this is safer than a number combo. I think the Android way maybe easier to remember.

I actually really like that. I HAVE to slide to unlock anyways...so why not combine that sliding into a password.
 
They use a 3 by 3 pad like a standard number pad. It would be quite easy to make a pattern but with numbers. The G that he is using would be 321478965

So I guess the only difference would be that you can slide your finger instead.
