So I'm at work imaging 2012 MacBook Airs today. The DeployStudio process finishes on my batch of 7 'books, they reboot, and automatically install the Profile Manager enrollment profile. Great.
I slide over to the Xserve to add them to the proper device group... but there are only 6 in the list? Hmmm...
Two of them are reporting the SAME serial number! And Profile Manager doesn't like that. I suspect our lovely insurance company replaced the LB in one and burned in the wrong serial number.
Anyone have any clever fixes for this? I've contacted the insurance company, but our policy with them has lapsed so I don't expect they'll do anything. Also contacted our AASP, but the tech was pretty sure Apple wouldn't let him blank out a board and re-burn a S/N. As is, it's pretty much useless... Profile Manager and Remote Desktop both don't really seem to identify them as two separate machines.
