Picked up my iPad Air LTE today. I noticed the SIM tool is not made of the liquid metal alloy that the previous iPhone and iPad SIM tools were. Now it's more of a bent-in-to-shape single piece of stiff wire like a paper clip.

I wonder if Apple is done experimenting with that liquid metal tech that they bought a couple years ago.
 
The tool that came with my mini last year was the same material. The liquid metal ones are long gone
 
They stopped LM a long time ago. I have a couple LM sim tools. They are very hard to bend.
