
How an obscure British PC maker invented ARM and changed the world
1987’s Acorn Archimedes was the first production RISC-based personal computer.

I particularly liked that the ARM design was inspired by the 6502 chip used in the BBC Micro and also of course the Apple II.
And of course that the first mobile device with an ARM chip was the Apple Newton.
And that the original ARM chip embarrassed the Intel state of the art when it was released (the 80286).
