Seen something interesting in my UPS tracking for an order of MacBook Air m2 I recently ordered. I’m sure like many of you guys, whenever I order a product from apple, love constantly monitoring the tracking :)

However for this order seen something I have never seen before. Usually there is a pre customs clearance in Asia prior to shipping to US. This order seems that it didn’t go thru any customs in Asia, and went directly from EPZ, CN -> Shanghai -> Anchorage and finally sitting at Louisville pending release from non-US broker (assuming this is the import customs clearance).

Hoping this is not a mishap of the shipping and I still get my package, was suppose to arrive yesterday but now has been updated to date will be provided soon

Has anyone seen any shipping that didn’t go thru export customs for your BTO MacBooks?

Probably due to slower customs processing in the U.S. during holidays. Orders from China don’t need to go through any export procedures. That’s the entire purpose of the EPZ - to speed things up. Materials enter China with the sole purpose of being assembled and exported. The only customs action occurs in the U.S.

Thanks for the details, wasn’t aware of this. Always thought it went thru custom in Asia to speed up the process. Learnt something new :)
