So I updated my jailbroken iPhone today, and as I was updating I was thinking, one of the features I was going to miss was the percentage of the battery life I had left on my iPhone that I enabled in bossprefs.

Well, low and behold..

It still updates and acts normal. This was a jailbreak feature. Now that I updated, I lost the jailbreak, but the feature is still there.

I always thought a firmware update was the complete OS and wiped everything else.

ok. that is interesting.. wonder what's up? maybe that is some super basic plist that apple just leaves alone in the update. as a pref, this would explain it too.

Well, you would think with the update, it would put everything back to the way it is normally. That's why it's interesting..

Having the number is much more effective than having the battery icon.

does that number change as your battery is powered/drained?

could be something deep inside of the registry -- too deep for a clean wipe?

I agree. They need to add that option for the number.

The updates don't wipe the iPhone completely clean. Thats why whenever you restore it has that one-time notification that says to move apps you hold on it until it wiggles. It doesn't say that when you upgrade now does it? Also your brightness stays at your level if you update. With a restore, it goes back to halfway.

I just checked and I'm still rocking emoji after the update.

Wish I could trade it for my SBSettings...

I used caption crunch to do little tweaks to the carrier and time (text). When I updated, they were still there too. I thought "That was interesting"
