iOS Interface Builder error

Dear all!

I am newbie for Mac and universal app making.
I am using mac OS X 10.7 and downloaded combined dmg file for xcode and ios sdk.

Installation of dmg was successful but every time when I try building a program,. I am getting an error like: " ibtool error, unable to communicate with interface builder"
And for every sample program I am getting two same type of error.
I tried installing xcode again but again the same error.

Moreover everytime I try to start Interface Builder Application directly, it starts and crash.

Kindly suggest me how to solve this problem.

Mac OSX 10.7 is currently under NDA. Anyone who has legal access to it has accepted that. By posting what you have you have broken your NDA and opened yourself to the possibility of being sued by Apple.

You should post your questions on the developer forums on the Apple Developer site or wait until 10.7 is not covered by a NDA.
 
I am sorry for my mistake. I confirmed and its 10.6.7 and I am sure that I am saved by sue.

Now, can anyone let me know the solution for my problem?

Your root problem appears to be that Interface Builder crashes on startup. What have you tried to fix this? Have you tried moving/removing your IB preference file(s)? Have you looked in the system Console logs for clues?
 
Below is the error when I am trying to invoke Interface Builder app.

Do you have the iPhone Simulator installed? Does it work? Have you tried a full re-install of the iOS developer tools?
 
Just to be clear, is this the Xcode 3.2.6 installation? I guess interface builder doesn't exist in 4.x so it should be that one. Have you ever had a version of Xcode running on this computer before? Did you install more than one version of Xcode?

I would uninstall using the instructions in the About Xcode.pdf file. Then install again.
 
Dear all,

Let me explain everything in brief:
1. Interface-builder.app does not get started when I double click on it and error message "IB crashes unexpectedly" comes.

2. When I open any mac app(from xcode) which uses IB, it works well but when I build and debug any iOS application in xcode, below error comes:

"/Applications/project1/MainWindow.xib:0:0 ibtool failed with exception: Interface Builder encountered an error communicating with the iPhone Simulator. If you choose to file a crash report or radar for this issue, please check Console.app for crash reports for "Interface Builder Cocoa Touch Tool" and include their content in your crash report "

And then when i try debug on iOS simulator ignoring the above build error, icons is created on iPhone, but on clicking nothing is displayed and not even "hello world."

I am a newbie for Mac and xcode, kindly help me out.

The complete detail of the configuration is:

Mac oS X- 10.6.7
Xcode -3.2.5
iOS sdk - 4.2
iOS Simulator :latest 4.2 (older also available)

I'm having the same problem when starting the Interface Builder directly or via double clicking on an xib file with this setting:

Mac OS X 10.6.8
Xcode 3.2.6
iOS sdk 4.3
iOS Simulator up to 4.3

In your later posts I see that you work around and finally update to Lion. Did ever manage to run IB on your former settings with Mac OS X 10.6.7 or have any clue what the problem is?
After the first crash of IB, I found that the list for software updates contained a new entry for an IB update. So I updated the IB. I even re-installed XCode. Still the same crash.
