Interface glitch - close tabs colour

Hi all. I'm running HighSierra with all current updates on a MacBook Pro mid 2010, 17 inch. In Firefox and certain other non internet apps, the rectangular button to close or save appears with white text. Most applications appear fine, but a few like Firefox appear as per the attachment.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this or may have an idea for how to solve it ?
