Hi all, my 5s iphone has ran virtually trouble free for the first 3 months after purchased new. However, in the last couple of weeks it has been having intermittent issues. An example is when last night I had a couple of apps open, the health meter and ITunes playing music on a Bluetooth speaker. I closed the health meter app and went to reopen it to refresh it and it froze up, then the entire screen went black and would not respond to any buttons. I tried holding the screen lock button down and nothing. I tried pushing the home button down and nothing. Even plugged the phone in to the charger and nothing. Finally I just happened to flip the silent switch on the side of the phone and it snapped back to life and now seems to be working fine.
A couple of questions. First, is this type of behavior indicative of any specific problem with the iphone? And second, when this type of freeze happens where the phone goes black and is not responding to any button manipulation, what is the recommended action, other than taking it to the local Apple Genius station? Does the original factory warranty cover this type of thing for 1 year?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
