The Set-Up
Airport Extreme "N" version -
Airport Express "N" version used as extender -
One MacBook and one iBook - both using Tiger
MacBook is 802.11n, iBook is 802.11b
Extreme is in a downstairs room and the Express is upstairs, less than 10 feet from the Extreme.
Both Macs are in the same room, 12-15 feet from the Express.
Got the picture?
The Situation
Most of the time, both Macs have great Airport signals. No problems.
But once or twice a week, the MacBook's signal will become VERY intermittent. It will go from "four bars" to no bars and back to one bar -
All the while, the iBook is rolling along with a full-strength signal.
I've turned Airport on/off on the MB, reset the Extreme and Express, rebooted the MB - NOTHING seems to make a difference.
Then all of a sudden, it's back to full-signal for a few days.
There's a TV between the EXpress and both Macs.
So - Is there a firmware update? Can firmware on a MB's Airport become corrupt? Can an Airport card become loose or fail?
Ideas?
