Among other iPads, I have a 16GB WiFi-Only Space Gray iPad Air (the original, not the iPad Air 2). I've noticed that sometimes the lock switch will be enabled and sound will still come through. If I flip the switch back into the "unmute" or "un-rotation-lock" position and then back to mute it, the mute will always work.
That being said, am I alone in experiencing this on the original iPad Air and/or on iOS 8? Is this an iOS 8 glitch (as it seems to happen in a similar fashion to the rotation glitches that naturally are a part of iOS 8 and in a similar intermittent frequency)?
If this is a hardware defect, I'm not too worried as I have AppleCare+ on it through Sepember 2016; though it would be nice to avoid having to deal with the swap if I don't need it.
