Maybe you remember that I couldn't print anything with the "lp" command. A paid consultant suggested renaming the printer. After I renamed it, I discovered that to print with "lp", I needed to type "lp -d HP_LaserJet_1200" along with the names of the files I wanted to print.
Sometimes the printer works when I expect it to work. But now the printer keeps going offline. After I try to print something with lp or with an application program, I need to reboot to make the printer work. If I keep giving "lp" commands or keep trying to print with an application program, the jobs sit in the print queue, even when the computer thinks that the first enqueued document is already printing.
Any ideas about what may be wrong? Thanks.
