Intermittent sound playing mp4 videos

Hi all,
I'm trying to watch embedded mp4 files using Firefox 38.0.5 on Yosemite 10.10.4 They start off ok but around the 2.5- 3min. mark the sound will drop out and/or the video playback will freeze. Any help/ insight much appreciated.
