Hi all, didn't find any posts on this in my search so here goes.

First, the other day I was gaming in Windows 7 and noticed a buzzing with Sound Effects. Although it did sound somewhat mechanical (like something was touching the speaker), I didn't think much of it as I was playing AI War Beta (There have been sound problems in this game before).

However, last night I was watching some video in OS X and suddenly I heard a loud pop and I had no sound. I quit VLC via CMD-Q and heard the same pop from the speakers. I then tried other CMD combinations and found that on several other keys, but not all I heard the same pop. But this only happened with CMD key combinations. For example, CMD-J would produce the pop, but ALT-J would not.

After I restarted everything seemed to be fine. Although I probably also moved my laptop as I restarted, so this could also play into things.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Does anyone have any suggestions as to a cause, or any methods to debug the problem? If I took it to Apple they would probably look at me crazy unless it was happening while in the store.
