(I already posted it on Apple Discussions, posting here for visibility)

I upgraded from an iPhone 14 Pro Max to an iPhone 17 Pro Max two weeks ago. I'm already running the latest iOS 26.1. Shortly after, I started having intermittent issues with wired CarPlay, it would suddenly disconnect and reconnect. I didn't think much of it at the time, so I switched to wireless CarPlay and moved on.

Yesterday, things escalated. My Wi-Fi connection dropped suddenly, the Wi-Fi switch in Settings was grayed out, and the Wi-Fi Address in About showed as "N/A." At the same time, Bluetooth became completely unusable: it appeared enabled in Settings, but if I tried to turn it off, it would automatically re-enable after about 5 seconds. Worse, it stopped detecting any devices, I have an Apple Watch Ultra and the new AirPods Pro, but neither showed up.

I tried troubleshooting by resetting network settings, but that didn't help. I even restored the phone and tried latest iOS 26.2 beta (rolled-back afterwards), yet the behavior persisted. Occasionally (e.g., after turning off my Apple Watch or charging my AirPods), Wi-Fi would briefly revive and work normally for a few minutes, during which Bluetooth would also start detecting devices again, before everything died again. It feels like the network connectivity daemon in iOS is crashing, taking down all connectivity except cellular data.

(I'm not sure if this is related, but AirDrop has stopped working entirely as well.)

I spoke with Apple Support yesterday. They ran diagnostics, confirmed something was off with Bluetooth, and advised me to visit an Apple Store for physical tests. (I'll try to go this weekend, but I'll need to get through my workweek on cellular data only.)

At first, I suspected a dead modem chip, but after some online research, I'm convinced this ties into the documented N1 chip issues: iPhone 17 Pro: Air WiFi Cutting Out Issue. Those were supposedly fixed in the iOS 26.0.1 update, but clearly not in my case.

Has anyone in the community tried alternative troubleshooting steps that might resolve this? I'm still under warranty (less than a month old), so I think Apple would replace the unit, but I'm confident this is a software glitch, not hardware, and a replacement wouldn't necessarily solve the problem.

Also, has Apple officially acknowledged this issue and confirmed they're working on a fix?

Thanks, everyone!

I have a release-day 17 Pro Max, and my wifi and bluetooth have been fine (using UniFi wifi 7 access points). Wireless carplay worked fine on a 4-hour trip (2 hours each way) and, while I haven't used it recently, carplay still connects. Airpods Pro 2 (gen 2 and gen 3) have also worked, although I don't think I've used them for longer than hour-long sessions.

You're not the only person to complain about wifi issues, and so I'm wondering if Apple has problems with recent production iPhones.
