This is an odd issue. Some background applications on my 2018 MBP intermittently (once every few days) stop responding - including my Remote Desktop app (SplashTop) until I wake the screen, then all of these apps immediately pick up where they left off almost as though the computer was asleep which isn’t the case as sleep is disabled. During these times, other apps like Plex server continue to work as normal. I cannot fathom why simply touching a key on the keyboard and waking the screen seems to reset everything and revive apps which have stopped responding. Keep in mind that none of these apps are crashing or are frozen, rather it’s almost as though MacOS has entered some sort of limited sleep. Furthermore, this is a brand new Mac and fresh installation of MacOS High Sierra with all updates applied. Since this doesn’t appear to be relegated to any particular application, I don’t know where to begin to narrow this down...
