Hey guys, looking to add an internal blu ray to my Mac pro, for ripping. Any good cheap ones out there? There are quite a few on newegg for $50-60.

Thanks!

Link doesn't work for me.

Ripping = Reading

There seem to a number of BD drives that don't play 100% nice on the Mac Pro. I have an LG drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136183) and, while ripping perfectly, the drive seeks with a noticeable "click click" every 15 seconds or so if there isn't a disk in it. I recall reading other reports from Mac Pro uses who had identical issues with other brands/models of drives. Make sure the drive you choose doesn't exhibit this behavior.

My LG does the same thing - I have a junk blank DVD I just pop in when I'm done using it and that shuts it up.

I picked up an LG BH12LS38 bluray writer at Bestbuy as a drop in replacement for the POS DVD drive that came with my mac pro. Works perfectly and does not have the problem noted in phairphan's post.
