So I just picked up an Asus VS247H-P from the bookstore on campus and got really excited to hook it up and play some HD movies on Netflix while I do my homework. I found out my stupid DVI cable doesn't work (which solved the riddle of why my monitor I already had wasn't working. So I basically bought this 24" monitor for nothing). I hooked up the supplied DVI cable and everything looks great.

So I start playing a movie with VLC media player because it's not on Netflix and for some reason, my internal display goes straight to sleep.

I understand the logic behind this-
If you're watching a movie, you don't want your bright ass internal display to ruin the mood, but what if you want to keep it on?

Is there an option somewhere?

PS: I did search, the only threads that came up were for people who either couldn't GET their monitor to sleep or who had trouble with sleep functions not working.

EDIT: Of course it's a VLC option. -_-;
So for those who are curious, if you click on "VLC" in the menu bar, click on Preferences, then click on the Video tab. It has an option for "Black screens in Fullscreen mode", uncheck that and presto.
