I've recently ordered a new hard drive for my blackbook, and tried installing it this morning.

I had put the original 160GB hard drive in an external USB enclosure and the new 250GB inside, but when I booted into my original drive, Disk Utility couldn't recognize the new hard disk. I tried booting from my tiger disks but both disk utility and the Apple Hardware Test failed to find a problem. I also tried resetting the PRAM to no avail.

I then swapped the two drives, putting the 250GB outside. This time, the 250GB one was recognized but not the 160GB disk inside.

Does anyone have a clue as to what's going on? My macbook's been acting all weird ever since I got an older (pre-original..?) hard drive replaced due to a head crash, and now this.. Is something wrong with the macbook itself? I live in Japan, away from Tokyo, so I don't really have access to a Genius bar..

Thanks for any tips :)
