So, my current Ibook g4 hardrive has died and I need it replaced.
I am not concerned with the actual act of replacing it, as I know someone who can do it for me.
What I am looking for is suggestions for good value INTERNAL hardrives in
120-160 gig range. Im not going to pretend to know much about computers, in fact I know next to nothing. Is it possible to find Apple hardrives outside of Apple stores/resellers, because I just feel like Im getting ripped off. Also the apple store wont sell it unless I also pay the installation fees.

Any advice on good hardrives (in price and whatever else makes a good hardrive:cool:) and where to find them would much appreciated!

Thanks

Search for a 120GB 2.5" PATA drive on google. You can fit it yourself quite easily.
Check out ifixit.com

When I upgraded the drive in my G4 PowerBook I used a 80GB Western Digital drive and the guides at macupgrades.co.uk

Think the drive was around £50, the upgrade took 30 mins and the software reinstall a few hours.

thanks, I will look into those.
stupid question Im sure... but are PC and MAC hardrives the same, meaning, can i put a PC hardrive into a Mac? because this one is a pc one no?
