Howdy,

Sorry in advance if this the wrong place to post this, because I am terrible with troubleshooting on my Mac, but my internal microphone has been frustrating me greatly.

My MacBook Pro is approaching 3 years of age, and I often use it to record music on GarageBand. The built-in microphone has always worked great for picking up vocals, but recently it has just sounded awful. My voice is barely perceptible to the internal microphone. Strangely, the microphone picks up clicks on the keyboard quite loudly, but none of my voice.

Similarly, when I went to "Sound" under System Preferences, the blue bar hardly registers anything when I speak into my laptop. It only moves when I tap my fingers on keys or side of the computer.

Is there anything I can do to be able to record sound normally again? Is this just my MacBook getting old and crappy? Any advice would be immensely helpful and appreciated.
