Internal Microphone + Video Games

How do i get my internal microphone to work on video games? I have a macbook pro with lepopard. I have a windows XP partition and I am trying to get my internal microphone to work while playing "Team Fortress 2." I was hoping the Macbook pro's internal microphone would work for voice chat features. Do I have to buy a headset?

The internal mic works perfectly. I also play TF2, and for the last couple days I had the same problem, my mic wasn't picking up anything. I found that the default volume for the mic was way too low. All I had to do was turn up the volume, and enable mic boost.
