I bought a gadget to transfer my old audio taps on to my computer. When i transfer the tapes and then play back i found that it had also recorded every other noise in the room including conversations. i think it has something to do with the internal microphone but not absolutely certain. if i turn off the internal mic will this help and if so can anyone tell me how to turn it off?

the best thing to try is to go into preferences and drag the input volume all the way done
