Internal Speaker works only when booting?

Hi

My MBA's speakers work only when booting (that system sound it does), but when Its logged in, it doesn't, just the headphones, and in System Preferences it only appears that option (the headphone one, not the internal speakers one)

How could I repair this?

If not, verify the disk and then check and repair disk permissions.

Is there a red light inside the headphone jack of your computer? There is a common issue where a little switch inside there can get stuck. Sometimes simply plugging in headphones and removing them (quickly if it doesn't work normally) can resolve the issue.

I don't know if this version also has the red light, but i can't see any on mine..!!

I was about to change the peaces, but it's so weird i can hear the speakers when booting!!

I just bought mine yesterday (new) and it's doing the same thing. Any solutions or should I return it?
