Internal speakers don't work for FaceTime with external usb-mic attached

As topic states:

  • USB Mic plugged in (G Track Pro)
  • Internal speakers set as default output
  • Sound works in all apps as expected and uses mic (Microsoft Teams, Voice Recorder, iTunes)
  • Sound does not work with internal speakers for FaceTime app with mic in use
  • I can send the sound to a HomePod, Sonos, headphones... all work.. basically everything but internal speakers BUT ONLY in FaceTime app
  • MBP is on latest release of Mojave
At a total loss here... help?
