Internal Speakers just stopped working in PowerPC G4?

Hey guys,

My internal speakers in my PowerPC G4 just magically stopped working! It recognizes them in system preferences. And yes, the volume is up. I dont know what happened. The headphones do work. I havent tested external speakers yet, but that's next on the list.

Any ideas?

Have you opened the G4 for other upgrades? Maybe you accidentally disconnected the speaker connection to the logic board?

Open up the side door and trace the speaker wire to the logic board and wiggle it to see if it'll reconnect. It could also be possible that the speaker just died...

i havent opened it up... but it maybe just blew... i still have to test and see if external speakers work on it... if they do ill get some, b/c i plan on going with those anyway

PowerPC G4 does not have speakers...

do you mean Power Mac G4?

All PPC G4s had speakers or speaker in them

I dont know which G4 it is... its the desktop with built in speakers
