In the past, (iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S), my husband has gotten our phones in the US and we've used them in the UK. There haven't been any problems. This year, we're getting it from Canada. I understand there is some compatibility issues with ATT or Verizon phones, but do you think there will be any issue if one buys an unlocked phone from the apple store in Canada and uses the iPhone 7 in the UK with a UK Sim?

Thanks in advance!

If you can wait till mid December, the international version will be release by Apple in the U.S. It known as the sims free versions and has the most radios in it; about a third more radios then the carrier branded versions!

Where are you getting this info? As far as I know, there's:
A1660/A1661, which is US CDMA, China, Hong Kong.
A1779/A1785, which is Japan
A1778/A1784, which is everything else (including AT&T & T-Mobile)

More than likely one of those versions will become the SIM-free version (probably the A1660/A1661 one as it supports CDMA in addition to GSM).

That's my guess as well. It would be nice if Apple would release the SIM-free model at the same time.
