International Emergency Calling on AW Series 4 Possible?

Will be traveling abroad soon and I am trying to decide if I should get a Series 5 for the added intl sos feature. Only planning on going to the UK/France/Netherlands. Will my current AW Series 4 dialing properly in those countries? If I change my region upon arrival in each country will that work as well?

I did read that, I’m still just trying to understand why this feature works on series 5 but not on series 4, it seems like a software thing and nothing to do with hardware.
Wondering if the iPhone 11 Pro will automatically do this I would assume so.

I have not investigated, but maybe the s5 supports more frequencies and/or has some roaming support.
