International trip with prepaid sim

So whats our strategies for international trips? People in Europe reporting successful result with cutdown sims so You should be able to use prepaid sims with data capabilities if you cut it down to micro sim size right?

Any idea, reports for international data use without dealing with crazy expensive AT&T international data plan? I'm thinking maybe something like go-sim would work?

Any thoughts guys?
